House Majority Leader Cantor Says Let Them Go Without
Ladies On the Left, example number one as to why we need not attempt to frame our fellow Republican leaders in a negative light : because they do it for us.
House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, a Republican from Virginia, gave an interview to Bob Schieffer of CBS’s “Face the Nation” this past Sunday, May 29th. In the interview, which you can watch above, Cantor asserts the claim that American civilians who fall victim to natural disasters, such as those in Joplin, Missouri, ought not to receive disaster relief assistance unless the money can be offset through cuts in other federal programs:
"When a family is struck with tragedy — like the family of Joplin … let’s say if they had $10,000 set aside to do something else with, to buy a new car … and then they were struck with a sick member of the family or something, and needed to take that money to apply it to that, that’s what they would do, because families don’t have unlimited money. And, really, neither does the federal government."
What we have here extends further than political bases, this is an idea that, if implemented, would deny thousands of American citizens dire assistance during their greatest times of need. This is no assault on Democrats, this is an assault on the American people, both Democrat and Republican alike by an elitist.
